Before you assume it
Four things this does not do
“Security” is a big word, so it is worth being exact about where this stops. These are four a school might expect. None of them are here.
- Recognise visitors by face Face recognition in Edoovi marks student and staff attendance, not visitors. This is the gate log, the appointments and the history — a record of who came, not a face scanner at the entrance.
- Physically stop anyone It logs and remembers; it does not control a turnstile or a barrier. It makes the gate accountable, but the person who opens it is still a person.
- Read vehicle number plates Visitors are logged, not their cars. There is no number-plate reading or vehicle gate here — nothing is claimed about ANPR.
- Raise an alarm or call anyone It is a record a school reads, not an alarm that dials out. In an emergency it tells you who is inside; it does not contact the police or emergency services for you.
